Los Angeles Design Festival
LA Design Festival is a collaborative collective that invites anyone with a perspective on design, and a role to play in the creative economy, to host an event during this citywide fortnight of design-related festivities. Our definition of design is purposely broad to ensure that our festival is reflective of our city’s diversity and talent. Our hope is that by creative a moment on the calendar when we can celebrate the many ways in which we each contribute and create, we will collectively shine a spotlight on LA as the global design capital that it is.

Abbot Kinney First Friday
Local merchants on or near Abbot Kinney, the thoroughfare that runs diagonally through Venice, come together every month to feature the best artists, gifts, products and music in the area. Local charities benefit as art junkies, couples and families descend on the always funky beach community. And, of course, beverages are available.

KCRW Summer Nights
This all-ages concert series from KCRW sets up shop across the city every week from June through August, and is definitely among the liveliest of LA’s summer concerts. Participate in cultural workshops before busting a move on the dance floor to DJ sets and live bands. Sample food-truck grub or cuisine from surrounding restaurants as you party ‘til midnight in the heart of Chinatown and Pasadena as well as at the Hammer Museum. A photo booth, craft beer garden and variety of fine art classes round out the fun to be had at this music-centric event.

Make Music Pasadena
While not everyone can afford to shell out hard-earned cash to go to Coachella, it’s nice to know that there’s a huge and FREE Pasadena music festival just around the bend. Yes, Make Music Pasadena is coming our way on June 6 with a long list of musical acts, including How To Dress Well headlining.
The 8th annual music festival will run from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. throughout downtown Pasadena, which includes Old Town and the Playhouse District. They’ll have over 150 musical acts—from indie rock to Latin and jazz—performing on five main stages and 30 smaller stages scattered throughout the streets at cool spots like parks, libraries, museums, rooftops and churches. They also expect over 50,000 people to attend.

Connected Fashion Festival
Connected Fashion Festival is a bi-annual shopping event in Downtown Los Angeles. Featuring the industries best brands, food trucks, and indie bands. It is the publics ‘in’ to wholesale prices and deals on a special curation of clothing, accessories, shoes and gifts. Connected began in a small 2,500 sq ft warehouse in Downtown Los Angeles and quickly evolved to a large scale block party with an eclectic mix of current clothing brands, live performances by emerging indie bands, music from quality DJ’s, and a well-curated selection of food and fun activities. Connected attracts young fashion forward individuals who know the worth of quality clothing and brands wishing to liquidate product while also gaining exposure to the right consumers.
